It’s officially baseball season in Coney Island.
The Brooklyn Cyclones will kick off their 2017 season on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. against the Staten Island Yankees at MCU Park.
The team’s home opener comes one day after Monday night’s season opener in Staten Island was postponed due to stormy weather, which wreaked havoc across the five boroughs.
The Cyclones, who are entering their 18th season as the Mets’ Single-A minor league affiliate, will welcome a fresh new crop of Mets’ prospects, many of whom have been promoted from the Mets’ rookie-league affiliate in Kingsport, Tennessee. Former Mets star and fan favorite Edgardo Alfonzo will begin his first season as manager of the Cyclones after spending three years as the team’s bench coach.
If you’re looking for something to do on Tuesday night, tickets start at $12 and fans will receive a free t-shirt as part of the team’s season-long promotional schedule, which includes Mets bobblehead dolls, lunch bags, and more.
Upcoming promotions include fireworks this Saturday, a Rockford Peaches cap on July 1, and an Amed Rosario Garden Gnome on July 15.
