The second-to-last weekend in July is going to be a hot one, but nothing will stop the jam-packed slate of activities, events, and the usual lineup of karaoke and fireworks.

Here’s what’s going on in Coney Island this weekend:

Fireworks and Karaoke

When: Karaoke at 7 p.m. on Friday; fireworks at 9:30 p.m.

Where: Riegelmann Boardwalk

Hurry home from work to sing your heart out at karaoke (seriously, there are decent crowds for it) and then stick around for fireworks. The karaoke is located near Deno’s Wonder Wheel on the boardwalk and the fireworks will shoot off from the same area. Read our detailed post from earlier this summer to get an idea of what the karaoke and fireworks scene is like in Coney Island.

Coney Island Brewery’s Cotton Candy Festival

When: Saturday at 1 p.m.

Where: Coney Island Brewery at 1904 Surf Ave.

Think about cotton candy… and then think about cotton candy beer. That’s what Coney Island Brewery has on the agenda Saturday for the second annual Cotton Candy Festival. They will be celebrating the return of their Cotton Candy Kölsch with all kinds of cotton candy-related activities. Check out their website for more details.

Coney Island Talent Show

When: Saturday from 4-8 p.m.

Where: W. 12 St. and the boardwalk

The eighth annual Coney Island Talent Show is “a spectacle of sunshine and lollipops on the boardwalk,” according to the event’s website. There will be more than $2,000 in cash and prizes for those who participate. The deadline to apply to perform was on July 12. The event is sponsored by the Alliance for Coney Island and Deno’s Amusement Park.

History event at Coney Island USA

When: Saturday at 5 p.m.

Where: Coney Island USA at 1208 Surf Ave.

Artist and historian Cezar Del Valle will take you back in time with a collection of stories and photos from the early days of Coney Island’s history. The event is included with admission to the museum, which costs $5 for Adults and $3 for Seniors, Kids (under 12) and those who live in the 11224 zip code. Members of Coney Island USA can attend for free. For more information, check out Coney Island USA’s website.

Cosmos Soccer

When: Saturday, 7 p.m.

Where: MCU Park at 1904 Surf Ave.

The Cosmos will go for their second win in a row after eking out a 1-0 win over FC Edmonton on July 15. If you’d like to stop by and check it out, it’s relatively affordable. You can purchase tickets here for as low as $15 or spend a bit more for $50 club seats.

Yacht Rock Revue

When: Saturday at 8 p.m.

Where: Ford Amphitheater at 3052 W 21st St.

Go back in time with your favorite artists from the ’70s and ’80s as they perform live at Ford Amphitheater. featuring Yacht Rock Revue with Special Guests Robbie Dupree (Steal Away), Matthew Wilder (Break My Stride), Player featuring Peter Beckett (Baby Come Back) and Looking Glass featuring Elliot Lurie (Brandy, You’re a Fine Girl)

Cyclones Baseball

When: Sunday at 4 p.m.

Where: MCU Park at 1904 Surf Ave.

It’ll be a night full of special promotions at MCU Park: Kids will get a free toy truck, it’s Department of Sanitation Appreciation Night, and you can bring your dogs to the game.

The Cyclones are enduring a rather disappointing 2017 campaign, winning just nine of their first 29 games thus far. But winning isn’t the biggest concern in minor league baseball, where teams focus more on developing players than winning games. It’s still a fun experience to attend a game, and MCU Park is nice for a single-A stadium.

Wendy Williams All White Mixtape Beach Party: Volume 1

When: Sunday at 4 p.m.

Where: Ford Amphitheater at 3052 W 21st St.

Start off your Sunday on the beach and then make your way to the Ford Amphitheater for special performances by Fat Joe, Remy Ma, M.O.P., Naughty By Nature, Big Daddy Kane, Charly Black, DJ Young Chow, Majah Hype, DJ Ominaya, Mr. Cheeks, Lil Ceasar, Smif-N-Wessun, Grand Puba ft. Sadat X, and DJ Boof. For more information, check out the Amphitheater’s website. Tickets start at $25, according to Ticketmaster.

Coney Island Beach

When: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily

Where: Coney Island Beach

The beach is regularly packed at the height of summer and many beachgoers end up staying on the beach into the evening. Just because the lifeguards leave in the late afternoon doesn’t mean the beach empties out. (Tip: If the crowd bothers you and you don’t mind walking, head west and try out Brighton Beach. It almost certainly will not be as crowded)
