The weekly fireworks show in Coney Island is coming to an end for now, but not before one last grand finale on Friday night.
There is no rain in the forecast, but temperatures will drop down into the mid-to-low 60s by the time fireworks shoot off (usually at 9:30-9:45 p.m.). The temperatures will continue to dip as the night progresses, reaching the upper 50s by the early morning hours.
Meanwhile, karaoke begins at 7 p.m. on the boardwalk near Deno’s Wonder Wheel, and that tends to draw a crowd featuring a combination of karaoke-goers and fireworks enthusiasts.
The annual fireworks season begins on the last Friday in June and wraps up the Friday before Labor Day. Check out our video of one of the fireworks shows from earlier this season.
Other events on Friday and Labor Day weekend
While locals pack the boardwalk to sing their hearts out at karaoke and see the last fireworks show, Hot 97’s On Da Reggae and Soca Tip will be occupying the Ford Amphitheater. Plus, the Brooklyn Cyclones will be playing at home on Friday night at MCU Park. To read all about the rest of this weekend’s events in Coney Island, click here.
