Subway-surfing teen seriously injured on Coney Island-bound F train

A 13-year-old boy is in stable condition after he was seriously injured while subway surfing on a Coney Island-bound F train at Neptune and W. 6th St. Tuesday afternoon, the NYPD said.

The train was nearing the end of its trip in Coney Island shortly after 5 p.m. when the teen exited the car and tried holding onto the side between the third and fourth cars. When the train reached the end of the platform, he slammed into a “Do Not Enter” sign.

The teen suffered contusions to his abdomen and multiple lacerations to his face and head, police said.

Medics arrived on scene at the Neptune Ave. station shortly thereafter and he was transported to Maimonides Medical Center.
