What to do this weekend in Coney Island: Music, Halloween Harvest, & more

Enjoy the final day of September on Saturday and the first day of October on Sunday. Here’s what to do this weekend in Coney Island.

Where: Ford Amphitheater

Another busy weekend of music will be taking place at the amphitheater. Thievery Corporation and Com Truise will perform on Saturday at 8 p.m., and you can Purchase tickets here. Then, on Sunday, check out “Chicago: Live in Concert” at the amphitheater at 7:30 p.m. Purchase tickets here.

Cosmos Soccer

When: 5 p.m. Sunday

Where: MCU Park

The Cosmos will host Puerto Rico FC on Sunday after Hurricane Maria caused scheduling issues. Previously scheduled for Oct. 28, the match between the two teams will instead be played this weekend.

Coney Island Museum

When: Saturdays 12pm – 6pm and Sundays 2pm – 6pm.

Where: 1208 Surf Ave.

The museum’s post-Labor Day schedule is now in effect. Head to the Coney Island Museum to check out “Five Cents to Dreamland: A Trip to Coney Island,” an exhibit presented in conjunction with the New York Transit Museum to showcase historical collections. Plus, the museum is highlighting parts of its Permanent Collection.

Coney Island History Project

Where: 3059 West 12th St., at the entrance to Deno’s Wonder Wheel Park

The Coney Island History Project is open throughout the year for oral history interviews by appt. and on weekends for walking tours. The walking tours are $20 and reservations are required. Check out their eventbrite page for tickets.

Weekend rides

Luna Park remains open on weekends through the month of October. Plus, Deno’s Wonder Wheel Park offers 21 rides — from the landmark Wonder Wheel to Spook-A-Rama and Stop-the-Zombies — on Saturdays and Sundays from 12-8 p.m., weather permitting, through October.

Check out this seasonal program every weekend from Sept 16 to Oct. 29. Activities include face painting, pony rides, and a pumpkin patch. The experience is included with the purchase of an all-day wristband.
